Ethical Pet

Ethical pet choices...?
I wanted to get a pet since I was ten, but my parents thought I wasn't responsible enough. Now, I'm 15, and they're letting me get a pet. I need help deciding. In a previous question, I asked this and someone said "Gecko". From then, I came up with other options. Tell me which one is the best for a pet. And if it's "ethical". For example, I don't want a bird because they're meant to be with their family and mates, in the open and flying rather than in a cage with limited space.
Gecko
Chameleon
Frog
Rabbit
Would it be okay to have a rabbit as a pet? Or a frog? What do I need to provide for them so it won't go mad?[like birds do when you cage them]
I'm allergic to Guinea pigs and cats.
I had a mouse in the past,
I don't think my parents would allow me to get a dog, I get lots of schoolwork, so I wouldn't be able to care for a dog so much.
A rabbit makes a brilliant pet. We put ours in a hutch at night and a run in the day but when we have time at home we have them hopping aroung the living room. they also have a few card tubes and things to gnaw on and we have two so they don't get lonely. You can safely say our rabbits are fine living in a cage but if people get them then don't ever get them out etc then it is not fair to cage them. Rabbits make great pets. We even taught our old one, Alaska to turn in a circle, get into her hutch and give her paw on command! If you go into youtube you can see rabbits doing this and how to teach them. They learn really easily in my experience. Even quicker than my dog. They are fun to watch too. WHen they are in their run and chase each other or stretch using the side of the run or spread right out in the sunshine and it is really sweet when they clean themselves. We also have a chew stick in the run and we made sure we got a very big run and a spacious hut. Our old run and hut even had multiple levels but we couldn't find any again and our old ones got old!
Anyway, all the pets you ahve picked sound good but my friend has had lizards and I definitely prefer rabbits although I love her pets too!
Good luck!
Edit:
Also, a rabbit never dissapointed me and I'm used to pets like playful dogs! People don't appreciate them because they thing they just hop around all day but if you actually like animals and want to take care of them then you will get a lot more out of them. I know lots of rabbits even fetch!
Also, a hamster is another good choice. I have one of them and although they are not as intelligent as rabbits they do come to their name and they are very entertainng to watch and they have proper personalities too! It is adorable watching them eat! You can get amazing cages, really big with multiple levels and loads of tubes with a wheel and a house and lots of toys and things to chew and platforms with ladders and you can buy them loads of things like chew sticks, flying saucers, wooden chew blocks, hamster balls, wooden balls to put in their cage, see saws and little houses! They are very low maintenance, you just clean them out once a week and give them fresh food and water every day! I have my hamster out every day and make them stand on their back legs before I give them a treat etc. They are good pets too. But rabbits are brilliant. Also, with a rabbit, if it is cold outside int he winter or snowing etc and you can't put them outside then you can get indoor plastic cages too!
