is it normal for my cat to stretch REALLY long and in really weird positions?

my dogs name is peter. peter pan and tinkerbell lolz bbut tinkerbell is older (cat and dog)
Being outstreched in such a postions leaves him quite defenceless.

There is a relative to such stretching: The usual "gymnastics" stretching. They dont do it because they are lazy or sleepy, it is a sign of friendship.
