How do I teach my cat to go to the bathroom in his litter box instead of the corner he has chose?
His litter box is always clean and he does use it sometimes but he has found a corner in our laundry room and he won't stop going there
Ok, I have a totally different answer than everyone and I got it from my vet & other pet people....I'm not sure if you'll want to do this but try putting a bowl of food in that area. Cats should NOT want to pee on their food. It has worked for us (my hubbie & I have 6 cats. We haven't had this problem for over 5 years though but it does work)! Of course, this would be after you thouroughly clean the area. Or try this: put a whole bunch of orange peels or orange scented fresheners there. Cats don't really like the smell of citrus. You could also try spraying cat repellent (there's so many products in stores that I'm not sure if they really work but it may be worth a shot). Or try putting foil in that area. They're not suppose to enjoy stepping on it (not sure why but it's worked for us).
