Why would my dog be sniffing around her head like their are bugs & dragging bottom?
She has been chasing her tail, sniffing her back, turning around looking behind her like someone is tickling her & dragging her behind all day. I did us a furminator deshedding brush on her yesterday but not hear her bottom. What could this be? Do I need to bring her to the vet tomorrow? She was groomed 3 weeks ago & is up to date on shots. she is a 6 year old basset hound
Possibility of several things - may need de-worming; may have picked up flea(s); allergy to whatever bathed with when recently groomed (can sometimes become allergic to something that has been used for a while, believe it or not); while unable to say about something that would reduce your worries, would suggest you talk with your vet for diagnosis. Then, there are some breeds who are susceptible to specific things and problems.(BTW - although the fuminator may not have touched his bottom, he may have licked himself and it passed through digestive tract.
