How soon after lily consumption should my cat show symptoms?
My parents found my cat this morning with pollen from the lilies in our kitchen (that I told my mum to get rid of) on his chest and paws. He was washed thoroughly after that, and the lilies removed.
It's now 10 hours later, and he's shown no symptoms all day - is acting absolutely normal, has eaten and urinated fine today.
Should symptoms have manifested by now if he had ingested any of the lilies?
Lillies kill by damaging the kidneys - by the time you see symptoms it's too late. He needs to go in to the vet and should have gone there as soon as you noticed the lilly pollen. Call the vet, and get him seen and treated. It's soon going to be too late if he did ingest any - you have no way of knowing.
