My six month old cat seems so difficult to learn the word no.She is very undisciplined and doesn't respond to
repeated no's, she just keeps on trying to climb on all sorts of things, the stove, the entertainment center, the printer, the fence. I have taped the stove and counters but she circumvents the tape and jumps anyway. she even tried to climb the wall today when she stood on the entertainment center. She also gets any small thing she can like a rubber band or an emery board and runs with it. Also instead of drinking her water, she sticks her feet into it until the bowl spills.
She is one of 5 kittens I adopted within the past 6 months.
She also hardly ever makes eye contact when I am trying to discipline her. Can a cat have ADD?
Cats can very well be trained to mind you. I have a 12 year old and my other died at age of 12, they were so well trained and minded so well that they would stay in my back yard with no fence when I kept reinforcing them, my neighbor said she couldn't believe how well they minded.
My vet said try bubble wrap. My cat does the same thing with her water dish except she takes her paw and scoops the food into the water and eats it that way. Smart kitty she is. I know how you feel. My kitten is about to turn one and the kitty phase was unbearable. Trust me when I say it will get better. Keep her occupied and play with her until you wear her tail out. Then she'll sleep alot more instead of getting into trouble. Lots of toys also, she does it because she's bored and wants attention.
