Is it okay to feed a cat allergic to chicken, chicken fat, since it shouldn't contain chicken proteins?
I have a cat that needs a hypoallergenic diet, as she's allergic to chicken.
I've found a cat food called Nulo (Salmon & Brown Rice) that contains chicken fat, but no other chicken ingredients in it. Chicken fat itself shouldn't have animal protein (right?), which as I understand it, animal protein is the real element that causes allergies in cats.
Based on this, would it seem like a safe option to you? Or perhaps I'm missing something?

If your cat is allergic to chicken then it most likely will be allergic to chicken fat. If you're not sure, give you vet a call. I still say stay away from "chicken fat."
