Will a previously outdoor cat like the Kittywalk system?
I took in a neighborhood cat in December. She was declawed and the vet couldn't tell if she'd been fixed (although she doesn't seem to have gone into heat).
When the weather was cold, it was no problem keeping her in. Now that the weather is nice, she is much more insistent. She has gotten annoying enough with meowing, that I _want_ to let her out. But there are too many busy streets and other cats out there. When I took her in, she was scratched up. So, as an alternative, I was looking at the Kittywalk system. Indoor cats seem to like it, but I don't know how a previously "free" cat would like it. It's expensive enough, I'd like advice about it. I'll be outdoors a lot this summer with gardening, so I'll be out there with her.
The cat is 3-4 years old and seems little interested in the toys, boxes, cat videos, and hidden treats I've set up for her. She does like the cat condo, after I covered it with catnip. She is very affectionate and mainly just likes sitting on me.
Could give that a try. I have a former outdoor cat too and we have a small dog harness for going on outdoor walks with him and yea he freaked out about it first but now he loves it. We want to train our other cat to get use to it too but so far shes not having anything yo do with it. So thats another option for you. Good luck and best wishes to you both. Also limit how much catnip you give, once per week is more then enough.
