Problems with the Pet Mate Fresh-Flow Fountain?
Has anyone had problems with the above product leaking? Mine has been fine for almost a year and is cleaned regularly, sits on a flat surface, etc. But honest to god as I was sitting here answering another question, all the water just started to flow out of it onto my wood floor! Just curious if anyone else had a similar or other bad experience. Thanks!
I actually just read some online comments about the Petmate Fresh-flow leaking. I wanted to buy another auto-water unit as I have a cat that was recently diagnosed with CRF so I have to keep her food and water in another room, thus the need for another waterer. I have the Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain and it's been running for about a year with no problems, so after reading the reviews and seeing the leak complaints on the Petmate I decided to buy another Drinkwell. It's on sale at Drs. Foster and Smith, but you can do an online search for the best price, print it out and then take it to Petsmart and they will match the price. See the Source below regarding the complaint on the Petmate Freshflow. I also saw some comments that the filter can cause leakage. This was on Amazon. Not sure if the warranty is still good after a year, but it's worth a try to call them. Possibly the housing has developed a slow leak that has finally given way. You might even be able to purchase a new housing, if the motor and the water unit are okay. If you can't then, opt for the Drinkwell if you're able to. Good Luck!
