Walnut Stained
How can I get walnut stains off of my son's hands?

Sorry, he's stuck for awhile, until it wears off on its own as the skin cells replace themselves. I have tried adding a little bleach to liquid soap and scrubbing, and while it faded the stains a little, I not only still had noticeable stains, I also had sore and chapped hands. It's not worth it.
Walnut hulls are the source of one of the most permanent natural dyes around. In colonial America, they were the primary source of brown dye for yarns and fabrics, and they are still used by spinners, weavers, and fiber artists today. I don't know that this historical perspective will make you feel any better about it, but at least it gives you some idea of why it will take a week or 2 before his hands look clean again.
