Why is my cat walking sideways?
My cat had hematoma surgery on June 9 and she just went to the vet on Thursday for a check-up. The vet cleaned her ear real good and said another week for the stitches to stay in. For some reason she is walking sideways and moving her head from side to side also when she walks. She is wearing an e-collar but just started doing this last night. Do you think she might have an inner-ear infection which is throwing her balance off? Just seems weird because she was at the vet the other day and now this happens.
It is quite possible she has an ear infection. Hematoma is usually caused by a blunt hit or something along those lines so it's also possible she has a head injury. But the the e-collar could be bugging her too.
I would call your Vet and let them know. Most Vet's are open Saturday's and it doesn't cost anything to talk to one over the phone.
