Can a base be bought for a scratch post seperately?
I bought a two platform "Lisbon Cat Scratcher"
The top half of my cats scratch post, is completely untouched, she has only used the base of it, is it possible to buy a replacement base? Or do I need to buy a complete new scratch post, which seems a waste:(
Thanks for help, Manufacturer didnt supply bases seperatley. I bought have small piece of carpet for £5 and put a hole in it, but my cat isnt scratching it yet (after 3 days) she just sniffs at it :p
As for leaving an ole tatty one, the problem there is that once the carpet is torn and through to the wooden base apparently its no longer safe according to my vet, the whole claw can break off when scratching wood instead of carpet.
Hmm I've never seen them sold separately. You can try searching the manufacturer online to see if they sell replacement parts. Odds are they don't so they can make more money when you buy a whole new one. Lame, yes, but that's how some companies are.
Most of these trees screw together so you could also take off the base, cut off the old carpet and then buy some carpet and using glue or a staple gun recarpet it yourself.
