How do you keep your cat from chewing on their feather toys?
I have a couple of great feather toys that I bought for my cat since he likes to play with the feathers. Recently I caught him chewing on the feathers and it looked like he was eating the feathers off of the toy. Since I was not sure if there would be some harm in him doing this I took the soaked toy away and soon threw it out. I stopped letting him play with feather toys because he seems to constantly do this and I now play with him using "Da Bird" toy. He loves and looks forward to playing with this one but should I just not buy him feather toys to play with? I have a Tuxedo cat about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. Not sure about the age of the cat because he was a stray I got from the SPCA. Any suggestions? Thanks for your answers.
There's really no way to get your cat to stop chewing the feathers. It probably won't harm him though. My cat used to eat the feathers off her toys and she would just poop them out. She's about 7 years old now. She used to eat ribbons off her toys and poop them out as well. If you're worried about it then just don't give you cat feather toys anymore but he would probably be fine eating them.
