How can my cat have access to fresh air from a window and not fall out by tearing the screen?
She usually clings onto the screen and hangs there, which was ok since we were only on the first floor. Now we're two strories. The window would be her only access to fresh air (and mine) if I knew she'd be safe.
You can purchase 'pet safety' screening and re-screen your windows. It's made of a heavy duty material and is cat proof. I learned about this from a man who has it on his back door. His cat jumps up and hangs on it and there are no holes. I purchased it from Sears Hardware and put in in my french doors. I have 5 cats that like to look out those screens at the squirrels and the birds. They sometimes jump against them and there has been no damage. My old screens were getting holes in them. This screening is more expensive than the regular but it's worth every cent....
