Toilet Training a Fat Cat?
I am contemplating purchasing "Citi Kitty" (which is a a training kit to get your cat to use the toilet).
I am not fond of litter boxes or the smell and I think this would be a wonderful idea.
However, I have two 3year old cats - and one is 23lbs!
Will he be able to balance and is he too fat to potty on the toilet?
(I am aware this sounds funny) ...but if anyone has had experience with training their cats (specifically overweight cats) to potty in the toilet, please let me know if it was successful.
To the first answer - thanks for your opinion, but I believe I am a wonderful cat owner. I actually feed them all natural prescription food. I do not believe that your choice to train your cat via toilet or litter box makes you a "good cat owner".
It is not a good idea to do with an older or larger cat. They may learn to pee in the toilet but won't be able to balance well enough to poop in the toilet and will start going on the floor.
Also, it is a lot of work to train them to use the toilet and can take a long time.
