why does a 9 month old male cat pee on clothes after being fixed?
We have had our male cat for a little over a month. A friend had him before us, he has been fixed since he was roughly around 4-5 months old. We haven't had a problem until just recently with him peeing on clothes. I cant figure out what has caused it how to fix this problem we want to keep him but, if he keeps this up we will have to get rid of him 
Oh gosh you poor thing, I have totally been there. I have 4 cats and my ultra sweet one all of the sudden started peeing on EVERYTHING. On the couch, in the laundry hamper, on my bed, on cleans clothes, on the rugs, on my pillows, in my purse, I mean everything. I took him to my mom's house when I went to visit her and he peed on HER couch and then I decided I had to take him to the vet because I was sure he had a UTI. I know how upsetting and frustrating it is to have cat pee everywhere and you feel so helpless. I seriously would cry all the time about it. My vet said he didn't have a UTI and he had a behavioral problem and I was going to have to figure out what the problem was and fix it. He also told me that litter box problems are the #1 reason why owned cats are surrendered to shelters and that while it is a time consuming problem to figure out what's wrong, it's easily fixable. What I figured out was wrong with my cat was that I had the same litter box that I had for him when he was a kitten. So while it was the right size for him when he was a kitten, it wasn't fitting him now. So I bought a HUGE 30 gallon storage bin from Walmart, cut a hole in the front of it like a door, filled it with litter and seriously the problem was gone overnight. Now he has all the room in the world. It looks kind of funky to have that big of a litterbox in your house (and I have 2 of them) but honestly, who cares as long as it makes your cat happy and you don't have pee everywhere. Another thing is you have to clean the areas where he has peed so he won't be attracted to the smell and think it's ok to pee there. The best cleaner for this is Mister Max's Anti-Icky Poo (other thing that looks kinda funky to have in your house sitting on the counter). It works fantastic miracles. You just spray it, let it air dry and it kills the pee smell. If it is just on your clothes that he's peeing on, if you wash your clothes with 1/2c of apple cider vinegar that works really well to take the pee smell out. Anything heavily peed on you can spray with the Anti icky poo, let dry, and then wash in the washer. Also, what kind of litter are you using? He might not like that it's too fragranced, or he might want you to be using scoopable litter. And make sure you scoop the litterbox 1ce a day and then completely empty it and wash it out 1ce a week. I mean if you think about it, if I was living in a house where there was 1 tiny bathroom filled with poop and pee all the time, I'd probably being peeing somewhere else all the time too. Good luck and try the big storage bin idea- they cost 5-10 dollars and if it works it saves you from ever having to deal with pee soaked clothes again!!!
