Is this good food for my hedgehog?
I was thinking about buying a hedgehog but there isnt anywhere near by where I can buy hedgehog food. I read that ferret or cat food that is low in fat and high in protein would be fine. But I want to make sure it is fine to feed permanently or should I just use it as a temporary thing. I was looking at Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Indoor Light 40. This is the breakdown of it Protein (min.) 37.0%, fat (min.) 10.0%, fiber (max.) 3.5%, moisture (max.) 10.0%, ash (max.) 6.5%, magnesium (max.) 0.08%. But its kind of expensive (Its about $43 for a 15 lb. bag) if yall know of anything that is cheaper that would be great. Thanks 
Royal Canin is fine. There are many people who feed it to their hedgehogs. There are a variety of foods out there that you can try. When you get your hedgehog, get some of the food it is currently eating. You'll need to do a slow switch to whatever food you decide to feed regularly. Hedgehogs can be very resistant to diet change.

BTW, ferret foods tend to be too high in fat and protein to be appropriate for hedgehogs.
