cat shedding need help please?
Does the FURminator deShedding Tool for Large Cats make any noise?My cat is realy afraid of noise and if it does she wont let me brush her with it.My dad gets realy mad when my cat sheds and he says he is going to kick her out.And do you think it hurts cats?
No there is no noise. For shedding you do have a couple of options, Brushes and grooming gloves. Both can work. If your cat is nervous about anything new you should introduce her to the brush of glove first before using it. When your cat is in a good mood put it near her while petting her. Let her sniff it or brush up against it, or even bite it. When she seems confortable with it start out buy petting her with one hand fallowed buy a light stroke of the brush or glove with the other hand. Having the petting in between will help relax your cat and even start it to associate the brush or glove with attention. When you notice your cat is comfortable with it you can start brushing harder. If you ease into it, it wont be long before your cat is loving being groomed.
No matter how much you brush though there is always going to be some shedding on furniture. A tip to help with your dad is to volentere to do the vacuming of the carpet and furniture dailly. It shows that you are taking his concerns seriously and are responsible enough to do something about it.
