How much cold is OK for my cat?
My house is unheated but at least the water in her bowl does not freeze yet. She is out of the cold wind and rain and has a blanket to sleep on. She has plenty of food as well. She keeps trying to get into bed with me but I do not want that to become a habit as I want her to get used to being outside in the future. Will she be OK. She is one year old and I have had her two weeks. I am an old person who can not afford heating.
I have two hamsters in an unheated cage as well will they be OK as well. Dogs after all can live outside on polar expeditions

Aren't some of these answers bizarre. You'd think central heating was the most important thing on earth. My mother or grandmother never had heating apart from fires in their homes and their cats all survived to ripe old ages. And I certainly don't put heating on for my cat when I'm not home. I do have a cat hot water bottle for her on very cold nights. Also my cat tries to get in bed with me too but it's just because she likes the company. But it's a no no. I don't like the idea of cat hair in the bed. Not healthy. Some of these answers are way too precious to be real! Enjoy your cat!
