How can I put my cat to sleep so I can give her a bath?
There is no way I'll be able to give my cat a bath, trim her nails and use the deshedding tool on her without coming out looking like a cutting board. Can any of you recommend something that will work for certain that I can give her so I can do these things?
Even if I get rid of the claw factor. I'll still have to fight and wrestle her the entire time. I'm not gonna do that.
In general, cats do not need to be bathed at all. Only if they are unable to clean themselves for some reason do they need baths. Baths can actually dry out their skin and cause more dander.
As far as nails go, you can also get her something to scratch on, which will allow her to naturally trim and sand down her own nails. this could prevent you from having to hold her down to cut them.
Do not under any circumstances use human medicines on her. In general vets will only give sedatives for very specific circumstances, and i'm not sure yours fit that category.
As far as brushing is concerned, just find y our cat in a calm moment and start by using a soft brush, let it be a calming, comforting thing for her rather than an exercise in frustration for both of you. Soon she'll associate brushing with relaxing, and you'll be able to use more and more effective brushes on her.
