Which have you found to be best of cat water fountains?
My female cat likes to try and drink her water as it's being poured into the bowl, and I'd like to give my male cat more options for drinking water as he has had a recurrent struvite problem but shows no real interest in drinking water.
I have seen a number of brands of cat water fountains and would like some recommendations? I live in the Uk and my pet supplier (Nutrecare) sell the Cat-it and Drinkwell models. I have also seen on ebay the petmate, catmate, smart sipper, fresh cat and so on.
I'm not fussed on the initial outlay and maintenance costs, but can't really afford to try the different brands (due to upkeep of my sensitive male) so would appreciate some tried and tested opinions. As in a good quality fountain with a decent lifespan and easy to clean and low risk of 'slime', as well as being attractive to the cats and keeping the water tasting good (most seem to filter the same water rather than run off a tap supply). I have a Drinkwell- it works pretty good and definitely encourages my cat to drink more water.
I would suggest offering your male cat wet food- he'll stay plenty hydrated that way.
