Why does my cat do this?

So my cat is one of the most docile creatures you will ever meet. I got her a big cat tower thing about 6 months ago and set it near my fish tank so she could watch the fishes, which she does and loves this. So I decided to get her another cat tower, a smaller one this time, that would fit in my room. I found the perfect one and set it between my bed and my window. She really seems to love it more than the first one, but now she starting to act funny. Every time she gets in or on it she gets a wild look in her eyes (like she's on catnip) and she has started to bite away at it. She's making an utter mess of fuzzies on my floor. She's not eating the carpeted part, but I'm curious if anyone has an idea about why she acts so weird and it biting all the carpet off.

the tower is probably treated with catnip and so she is just kinda kitty high. they do the funniest craziest things on catnip. just vacume more frequently and be happy that she is enjoying her new play tower. also being by a window can make a cat more hyper cuz they see and smeel other animals or sights and sounds.
