Why is my cat so destructive?
I bought my cat over $200.00 worth of toys. A crinkly tunnel and circle thing that he can swat the things inside, a thing with toys hanging off it. A toy the wobbles and fake flies fly around in it. A toy that spins. And small cat toys that he can bat around the house.. .im sure im missing somethings...
but he likes to climb on my daughters dresser and knock eveything down instead, or on any counters or even under her bed and grab things and take off with them.
We play with him with a feather toy...laser light.... he gets treats...
I dont understand why he likes to destroy things and wreck the house... He hardly ever plays with "his" toys....
And its not that they are not interesting..
please help!
It is a cat. Everything is a toy and everything is his. Cats own us, not the other way around. They love anything that smell like us and the love to watch things bounce off of the floor. It is normal, even in older cats. Maybe you could put double sided sticky tape on loose items and put less permanent things in a container. At least until you can train you cat not to get up there. But lots of luck. Cats love to jump and get high. They will climb to the top of anything just for the fun of it. Check out sticky paws at petsmart and also get some small water guns to squirt him, when he gets places that he is not supposed to be.
